Route Cusco, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca

 

Day 1: Arrival to Lima

Our transfer will be waiting for you at Jorge Chavez Lima airport holding a sign with your name on it and with the sign of Inca Roads', he or she will accompany you to your hotel.

Day 2: Arriving in Cusco

Pick up from hotel and transfer to Lima airport to head to Cusco

Our Inca Roads' tranfer will be waiting for you at Cusco airport holding a sign with your name on it, he will accompany you to your hotel. You can rest for a few hours and use this time to get used to the altitude. It is advisable to drink some coca tea or even eat some coca sweets

Free time to explore the city by yourself. Your guide will gladly provide any recommendations

Day 3: Cusco City Tour

Hotel pick up for the city tour. We will be stopping at Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), the Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Kenko and Tambomachay

In the afternoon you are free to explore the city

Overnight in cusco

Day 4: Sacred Valley

Pick up from your hotel at 8:00 am for the Sacred Valley this will include a visit to the Pisac Ruins situated on top of the mountain where you can overlook the entire valley as well as the Urubamba river.

In Urubamba we will stop for lunch infused with Peruvian flavours. A real peruvian experience!

Next stop: Ollantaytambo, the most beautiful Incan town where the water still runs through aqueducts.

The Ollantaytambo fortress is a symbolic place as this is where the Incas won in battle against the Spaniards.

Ollantaytambo is home to many terraces and stairs to the peak of the mountain. From here you can see villages and will be surrounded by mountainous landscapes.

Later we continue to Chinchero an Incan town home to textile traditions where we can see how people dye and weave wool using old Incan techniques

Overnight in Ollantaytambo

Day 5:Machu Picchu Excursion (The Lost City of the Incas)

Head to the train station for a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes.

From this small village we then take a 20-30 min. bus up to Machu Picchu.

Your guide will help with entrance and take you around for a 1.5 hour tour. You will then be able to walk around freely and take as many selfies and photos from this majestic place.

Take your Passport with for your own Machu Picchu stamp!

Once back in Aguas Calientes we will have lunch, explore and get to do some souvenir shopping before we head back to the train station

Arrival in Cusco; more or less?

Day 6: Arrival to Puno

Pick up from hotel  to head to Puno

We will make use of a professional bus Company. 

English speaking guide will talk about the places where the bus will stop to take photos – like the Inca Place of Racchy.

Overnight in Puno

Day 7: Lake Titicaca (The higest navigable lake of the world)

Pick up from hotel at 8:00 a.m for transfer to the harbor

At the harbor we will take a boat to the floating islands of Uros where we will interact with the local families and hear about their own traditions, music and artwork.


Arrival in Puno at  around 16:00 hours

Overnight in Puno

Day 8: Departure from Puno

Pick up from hotel in the morning.

Head to Juliaca airport , which is about an hour long bus ride.
