Choquequirao Trek 4 Days

Pick up from hotel at 5:00 a.m

We make our way to Cachora, a small Andean village with a really pretty view of the Salkantayglaciers.

Cachora is our starting point where we will meet the support staff and our mules.

We head to the Capulilloc Pass which sits at 9186 ft

Then we go downhill toward the Apurimac Canyon and with luck we might see a Condor fly over us.

We continue to Chiquisca, our base camp where the chef will be waiting for you with a delicious meal.

Wake up at: 6:00 am for breakfast.

We first head down to Playa Rosalinda and then make our way up as we prepare for  a 6 hour ascend. This is the toughest part of our day.

We will then reach our base camp close to Choquequirao…last bastion of resitante and refuge of the last Inca King, strategically located on the top of a big mountain over the Apurimac river Canyon.

Your guide will take you through the Choquequirao complex to show you its fine architecture, its aqueducts, the agricilture terraces, walls made with stones that fit exactly in the other Stone, and the figures of llamas made over the stonest.

Wake up for breakfast at: 6:00 a.m

We make our way into Choquequirao to see the highest part together with our guide and explore Choquequirao for a couple of hours

We return to our camp to have lunch and later begin to walk to San Ignacio.

The road is a steep descend but the view is amazing.

We set up our campsite near to San Ignacio for the night.

We will have a delicious dinner prepares by our cheff.

Early start on our last day for breakfast and so we can head towards Tambobamba (8202ft).

Here we will see a  variety of flowers and plants, and also mango forests. Plantations?

After that we walk to Haunipaca where we will have lunch, with a nice view of the river and colorful flowers.

From Huanipaca we return Cusco by bus, we are tired but full of experiences and enjoyable memories.
